Sarah Burnett-Moore - Jewellery Tutor
Taster and day classes in Soutache.
Previous Qualifications & Training:
I completed both the Diploma and Advanced Diploma at LJS, but I am also a trained milliner and bookbinder.
How I got involved in making jewellery:
I’ve always made things, and when I wanted to find a hobby to do with my daughter, jewellery came to mind. I did a few classes, then it all got a bit addictive.
Things I have done:
I’ve always been interested in fashion and crafts, but I have also done fine art, drypoint etching and printmaking. I also love photography.
Things I do now:
I am mostly concentrating on silver, soutache, bead weaving and millinery. Currently all income from my craft skills is donated to charity.
Things I hope to achieve in the Future:
I want to open a craft school in the south of France, catering for small groups and providing bespoke courses.
I am inspired by:
Colour and geometry.
My Favourite Jeweller is:
Hard to say, I like to support emerging artisan jewellers whenever possible, but I have loved Wendy Ramshaw’s work for years.
