Silver Jewellery Guided Workshop
Take a look above to see examples of what can be made on this class. These images are of students and tutors work.
Would you like to use your Silversmith experience to spend a day with us in our workshop working on your own projects with the guidance of one of our Silversmith Tutors?
The Silver Jewellery guided workshops are designed for intermediate and advanced level students. These sessions are different from our usual classes as there will be no organised tuition. You come along with your own designs and project ideas and have help and support from an expert Tutor and from your fellow students.
What do I need to bring?
You need to provide all the materials you will need for the day including your Silver (sheet and wire), stones etc. We do have some materials available to purchase in our Pop-Up Shop (not Sterling Silver Sheet or Wire) but we can’t guarantee that we’ll have what you need on the day so get organised in advance. You are welcome to phone us a week in advance to set aside any items you would like to purchase on the day in order to ensure it is available. Otherwise we recommend Cooksons Gold for buying in person in London.
What do LJS provide?
We will provide the following for use on the day:
• All hand tools
• Solder, Saw Blades, Sand Paper etc
• Barrel polisher
• Expert Silversmith Tutor on hand to answer questions and provide one to one support
What kinds of projects can I work on?
Some examples of projects you might like to work on:
The idea of the workshop is to work alongside other Silversmith students with help and support from an expert Silversmith Tutor.
We ask you to email us at least a week before the workshop session with a brief project outline. This is so our Tutor can prepare and ensure she is able to help you with what you want to do. Please include details of any equipment you would like to use.
Ensure you email is sent through to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 7 days before the Class or we cannot guarantee the support you require for the workshop.
What you need to bring to this Class:
For this Class you will need to provide your own Silver and any stones that you wish to use.
If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this, or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Please Note: Our classes are suitable for those aged 16 and over & for health and safety reasons, all students need to wear closed toe shoes when coming to the workshop. If you have any access requirements, please contact us before booking a course. And due to our small class sizes we are unable to offer transfers or refunds on our courses once booked. Please make sure you can make the date before booking. Thanks LJS x
