Christmas Party Fun at London Jewellery School
December is definitely party season and we had our own Christmas Party at the jewellery school last week with plenty of wine, beer, snacks and music. It was a fun evening and best of all, it was great to catch up with our students to see what they were up to.
Who doesn’t love Pass-the-parcel and it’s a must have at the London Jewellery School’s Christmas party. The parcel was filled with all sorts of goodies, beading kits, ring sizers etc. It’s always an exciting moment when the music stops, especially if there’s a parcel in your hand!
The jewellery competition is also one of our Christmas party traditions, we asked our guests to come to the party wearing jewellery they made. Everyone got 3 gold stars on arrival, which were used to vote for the jewellery they liked the most that was made by other students. It was fantastic to see everyone’s creations. Michelle had the most gold stars and won a £200 jewellery school gift voucher for her perspex necklace and a lovely vintage inspired hat, which perfectly matched her retro style dress. She said she would love to use the vouchers to do a Soldering Masterclass and Wood Carved Jewellery in the new year.
We also had a charity raffle with the money raised going to Kids Company, founded by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996 that provides support to vulnerable children and young people. The raffle prize included a £100 Cookson Voucher, a one year subscription to Making Jewellery Magazine and some gorgeous jewellery donated by our tutors, Michael Milloy, Sima Vaziry and Chu-mei Ho.
Everyone had an early Christmas present too! Thanks to our generous sponsors for the goodie bags; Metal Clay Ltd, Cookson Gold, Making Jewellery Magazine, Make Jewellery Magazine, London Jewellery Supplies, E-Beads and Silver Sense.
We hope everyone had a good time at the party; we certainly did and congratulations to all the winners!
