Diploma student Sally Costen wins High Street by Design competition
Diploma in Creative Jewellery graduate Sally Costen has won the student designer category of the 2015 High Street by Design competition run by jewellers F.Hinds.
Sally’s Seachange ring and pendant design will now be produced by F. Hinds as part of the 2015 High Street by Design collection and sold in the company’s shops across the country. Sally created her designs using wax carving techniques learned on her diploma course.
Another of Sally’s designs was highly commended by the panel of judges from the jewellery industry and she was described as “one to watch” by Hinds’ Director and NAG Chairman Andrew Hinds.
The other winners were:
- Current Jewellery Designer – Silvia Tjahyadi, Droplet On A Leaf Pendant
- Jewellery Lover, up to 12 Years Category – Adeen Naseer (11), Friendship Is Forever Pendant
- Jewellery Lover, 12 – 18 Years Category – Rebecca Clarvis (13), Leaf Cut Out Ring
- Jewellery Lover, over 18 Years Category – Marina Shavyrina-Shkolyar , Weave Pendant. This is Marina’s second win; her ‘Pearl’s Caress Ring’ won this category last year.
All five jewellery pieces will be individually showcased for the first time during IJL Olympia (6th – 8th September 2015) in the English Tea Roomwith a champagne tea reception for all the winners at on 7th September.
