LJS at London Jewellery Week
The London Jewellery School was at the Old Spitalfields Market last Saturday with Jewel East as part of London Jewellery week. Two of our tutors, Angela and Chu-mei were there to showcase some of the class samples and also ran 2 free workshops during the day; making a cocktail ring and a memory wire bracelet. It was a fun packed day even though we say so ourselves.
We love making cocktail rings, it’s a great way to use up those random beads and who doesn’t like to wear something big and sparkly? For the cocktail ring workshop, we had lots of ring bands already made so people could spend more time choosing the beads they liked and wrapping them onto the ring band. The other workshop we did on Saturday was making a memory wire bracelet. It was a fantastic project for beginners as you can create a bracelet in no time with a fairly simple technique!
If you missed out on our workshop on Saturday, don’t worry, you can find the free ring project on our website and a tutorial for making 3 different types of wire wrapped rings or even better, come to our Make Cocktail Rings Taster class and enjoy a fun evening at London Jewellery School. Although the class doesn’t come with cocktails we do have lots of tasty cookies, tea and coffee!
Nothing is better than spending a sunny Saturday afternoon making pretty things and relaxing. Especially when there are so many restaurants and food stalls with delicious treats on offer and lovely stalls to browse for jewellery and clothes; it was definitely a great day out!
It was so nice to see everyone walking away with a big smile on their face and wearing the lovely rings or bracelets they had made. We showed everyone the same techniques but the finished projects were very different and all of them looked amazing.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by our stall and said hi and we hope you all enjoyed the workshops. Happy Making!
