Next week is beading week
Don’t forget that next week is National Beading Week, (25 July to 2 August 2015), and there is still time to sign up for two special London Jewellery School events.
“Bead In” evening on Wednesday 29 July from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Drop in to see us and do some beading with like minded people over tea and biscuits.
If you’re new to stitched beadwork there will be beads, instructions and tuition provided for you to learn your first beadwork stitch and create your first piece of beautiful beadwork.
If you already love beading – do bring your latest work in progress to work on, or feel free to join in with the tuition, for a fun evening of beading, competitions, making new friends, sharing ideas and lots of beady inspiration.
The drop in evening is FREE but please email us on info@londonjewelleryschool.co.uk to let us know you are coming because spaces are limited.
Introduction to Peyote Stitch, Friday 31 July, 10am-5pm
This special one day class for National Beading Week is an introduction to this popular and versatile beading stitch for anyone new to beadwork or interested in developing their skills.
Working with small seed beads, needle and thread, over the course of the day you will learn how Peyote stitch works, and how to use it to create flat panels of beadwork as well as how to create three dimensional shapes and ropes.
This will be a busy day, covering how to do flat even count peyote stitch, designing your own chart and making a simple pin brooch. We will also look at creating peyote stitch ropes and tubes, as well as creating different shapes with the stitch – using increases and decreases to turn a flat sheet or disk into a three dimensional shape. Click here for more details and to book.
And don’t forget to share your beading images with us next week. So get beading!
