Beading Week is coming
National Beading Week, 25 July to 2 August 2015, is a new event for the UK bring beaders together and supporting bead traders all over the country. And London Jewellery School will be supporting the initiative by encouraging more people to take up beadwork in all its variety.
Individual beaders and beading groups all over the country can get involved by holding events, offering taster opportunities or by “bead bombing” – there are lots of ideas on the National Beading Week website www.nationalbeadingweek.co.uk.
Bead bombing is an idea inspired by the “yarn bombing” craze, where knitters decorated public places with their creations (generally secretly at night). The NBW team have come up with some clever ideas about how you can achieve the same thing with beads.
The idea of beading week comes from the Beadworkers Guild and is all ready attracting support from other organisations and magazines in the sector. The campaign is also signing upm ambassadors who will promote beading and beads.
Anyone can get involved so why not have a look at the ideas on the campaign website and then tell us how you will be getting involved. London Jewellery School will share infomration about your Beading Week events in future blog posts and newsletter items.
