Make a ring and fight cancer
How about using your jewellery-making superpowers for a good cause.
Throughout 2014 the London Jewellery School is raising money for Cancer Research UK via the Cocktail Rings Against Cancer campaign.
The aim is to get as many members of the public involved as possible. If you take part, you make a fun, fashionable ring and raise money for a great cause at the same time.
Here’s how it works:
Drop in to one of the many ‘Cocktail Rings Against Cancer’ days at the London Jewellery School and donate £10 to be taught to make a unique cocktail ring of your choice. All tools and materials are provided, plus refreshments. These drop-in sessions take place throughout the year – find dates here. Your ring will be photographed before you take it home for the online gallery of rings.
OR
Download the online tutorial here and make your cocktail ring from the comfort of your own home (£5 minimum donation). Photograph your ring and send in the image to the school.
OR
Share an image of your own design and donate to the campaign via Justgiving. After all the tutorial is only a starting point.
All pictures will be uploaded on to the dedicated ‘Cocktail Rings Against Cancer’ Flickr page. The more photos of rings, the more money is raised. 100% of the donations go to Cancer Research UK.
Various celebrities will be making cocktail rings for the campaign – so get on board and create something amazing to help beat cancer.
